It is very common that all moms’ feels exhausted in first few weeks of delivery.
And is very natural that you cannot focus on yourself but has to see all the
time for your babies needs. Eating right can go a long way in helping you get
back your strength and energy. After all a baby need a strong and healthy mum.
As you are breastfeeding. You eat will pass to your baby through your milk. So
you have a big reason to eat healthy diet.But you have to take give sometime for yourself also after delivery as
this is the time where you can take care of yourself and can recover fast. New
mums are often overwhelmed and too tired to eat properly. Vegetarian’s moms face even more challenge because they like it or
not, they have to follow the balance diet to get best nutrition. Then too you
don’t have to give up and continue to your vegetarian balanced diet. Many researchers
have found that vegetarian’s diets are healthier for pregnancy and
breastfeeding. Life with new born babies are very challenging job, you cannot
get time to rest or exercise in those few starting months and is very difficult
to eat well also.
But it’s very important to choose healthy and nutritious foods. Start
balanced diet and drinking plenty of water. Instead
eating 3 heavy meals, Eat small meals throughout the day.
WATER:
As after delivery you have lost much of water from your body, and as you
are feeding your baby you will need much of water, else there are chances of
yourself getting dehydrated, so to produce good and healthy milk it is
necessary to keep yourself highly hydrated. You can opt for various types of
fruit juices, lemon water or milk .Avoid soft drinks or any other type of
drinks with preservative…Make sure if possible avoid
tea or coffee also, as the caffeine which is there in it may enter your breast
milk and can cause your baby become irritate by nature or won’t be able to
sleep properly. So to be fit and make your baby fit you have to drink
large quantity of water
VEGETABLES:
Vegetables supply healthy carbohydrate that provides energy, vitamins and
nutrition’s to your body and your babies as you are feeding you baby. Vegetables
also provide different types of fibers which helps in constipation which is a common
problem after delivery. You can to eat all green leafy vegetables like
methi,palak,bottle guard,brinjal,tinda etc.You have
to skip some vegetables like cabbage ,cauliflower, different types of
beans,potatoes,cucumber etc means those vegetables which create gas or upset in
stomach to babies. As whatever you eat goes to your babies so there are
chances of getting gas problem for baby, as small babies are new to this world
and don’t have any experience of eating all vegetables. After 1 months you can start
all this vegetables but start with small quantity like with one spoon a day, so
that the baby start to getting use to it.
FRUITS:
Fruits play an important role in balanced diet too. Apple and banana are
very good for the breastfeeding moms. Citrus fruits like orange and sweet
lime are very nutrious.oranges is a great food to boost your energy. Vitamin c gives
healing to your wounds and can recover fast. Any citrus fruits are excellent
breastfeeding foods. As nursing moms needs more vitamins C than pregnant women.
You can have orange or sweet lime juice if you can’t get time to eat whole of
the fruit.
Eating right after delivery isn’t that complex; just
you have to continue eating a good quality of diet just you did at time of pregnancy. As after delivery you require special nutritional management of diet.
