As in my previous
article, food for toddlers was mentioned. Might you all have liked it. Today in
this article I am going to share with u few selected foods for kids of 3 to 6 age,
which are very healthy especially in winter. Every parent wishes their child
eats healthy food and stay fit. So it’s very important for a parent to create
the healthy food habit of kid’s right from childhood itself. You have to create
the healthy eating habit of your kids when they are developing the taste from
different foods items. Children needs healthy food but with a balance diet from
everything. Creating a healthy eating habit for kids from early age is the
investment for their future. It will give healthy and happy futures for kids.
As it is not easy to make a habit of eating healthy foods for kids from early
age, you need patience but at least you can try. As efforts made don’t get wasted.
*Don’t give a taste of junk food to
kids in their childhood.
*Make habit to give one fruit daily
*Set a time for meal daily
*If possible sit with your child to
have breakfast/lunch/dinner.
Here are some healthy recipes you
can give your child in especially in winter:
1. Palak
Puris:
INGREDEIENTS:
Wheat flour-1 cup
Palak puree 1 cup
Ginger chili paste-1 tsp
Jeera -1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tsp
Oil - 3 tbsp for frying
METHOD
* Take wheat flour add salt, ginger chili
paste, jeera and oil and mix it nicely.
* Now add palak puree and kneed it nicely
and make paratha like dough. Cover it and Keep aside for 10 mins

Divide into equal portion.
*Roll out each portion into circle puris.
* Prick each puri with fork or knife

Then heat the oil and deep fry this puris till golden brown and crispy type and
take it on kitchen tissue
* Let it cool down and store it in air tight
container.

Beetroot Puris:
INGREDIENTS:
Wheat flour-1cup
Beet crushed or gratted-1 cup
Ginger chili paste-1/2 tsp
Jeera-1 tsp
Ajwain-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - ! tsp
Oil-3 to 4 tbsp for frying
METHOD:
In a bowl
mix wheat flour, jeera, ajwain,salt, ginger chilli paste and mix it well.
Add beet
crushed or grated in it and make a paratha like dough and keep aside for 10 to
15 mins.
Divide
into equal portion.
Roll out
each portion into big paratha.
Now give
shape with a cookies cutter any you like which is attractive for kids.
Now heat
the oil and deep fry this puris till it becomes like balloon. and transfer it
into kitchen tissues.
Serve with
any healthy subji to kids.
3.Tomatoes
flavored Banana chips:
INGREDIENTS:
Raw
banana - 4 pcs
Tomato
power - to taste
Oil for
frying
METHOD:
* First
of wash banana nicely and then dry it completely, then peal it.
*Now heat
oil and then slow the flame and do slice of banana with slicer directly in hot
oil.
*Then increase the flame to high and stir
nicely by changing the sides.
*Fry till the bubbles of frying goes away and
the chips turn to golden brown and crispy.
*Then transfer the chips into kitchen tissues
and sprinkle tomato power when the chips is hot and mix it nicely.
*Store it in a air tighter container after it
cools down.

Cut small pieces of tomatoes
in a plate and put in full sunlight for 4 to 5 days and when it dries
completely put this dried tomatoes in a mixture jar and add sugar and salt and
slight amchur power in it and grind it to a fine power.. And sprinkle on any
namkeens you like...
4. Healthy
sukhadi:
INGREDEIENTS:
Wheat
flour-1cup
Ragi
flour-1/2cup
Ghee-2tbsp
Jaggery-3/4
cup
Coconut
power-2 tsp
Dry
fruits crushed or chopped (cashunuts, almond,pistachoes)-2 tsp
METHOD:
* Heat
ghee in a thick bottom kadai or non stick pan adds wheat and ragi flour and mix
nicely.
* Roast
this flour till golden brown and a sweet smell comes out then takes off the
gas.
*Let it
come to room temperature means warm, then add jaggery, coconut power, dry
fruits and mix it well.
*Grease a
plate and transfer this mixture in that plate and spread evenly and now garnish
it with coconut powder and chopped dry fruits.
* After it cools down and then cut it into
small pieces and feed your kids..
It’s very healthy in winters for small children’s.
5. Dates
and Fig rolls:
INGREDIENTS:
Soft
black dates-1 cup
Half
crushed dried figs-1cup
Ghee -
1tsp
Dry fruits
(walnut-5 to10, almond-20 to 25, cashunut-15 to 20, pistachow-25 to 30)-1 tbsp
Coconut
powder-1 tbsp
METHOD:
*Heat
ghee in a kadai or nonstick pan and put finely chopped dates and fig into it
and mix it well.
*Stir it well till dates and fig becomes soft.
*Add dry fruits and coconut powder to it and
mix it to dough like consistence.
*Now remove it from gas and mix it and let it
cool for 5 min and make rolls from it.
*Lastly coat the rolls with mixed dry fruits
chopped or powder.
*Store it in an air tight container and feed your
kid every morning at least one roll..
This recipe
is used in winter and is very helpful in increasing hemoglobin.
